I am from an upper caste and I think we should start the reservation for all Upper Caste only in FIELDS where currently lower caste people are forced to give services… Salary should be like more than 80,000/-… Let's see if we Upper Caste follows Economic Conditions or our Pride… All the Swach Baharat jobs should have 70% reservations for upper-caste… 🙂

@Akash Banerjee, I sincerely thought you would brush that kashmiri actress's issue saying it's her personal thing n we should respect that, given you have so many Muslim followers too. But you talked logic. Good to see that

@Akash Banerjee : don't agree with you on Rangoli's tweets. Are they OTT sure they are. But are they showing the mirror to Bollywood-bullies, exploiters, nepo-gang? Absolutely. No one has the guts to stand up to them and these sisters are. PS: of course I too don't agree with the sisters' definition of nationalism/patriotism and their blind faith in Modi. I believe though it is coming from being 'the other' all their lives as outsiders/small town/Hindi-belt etc. Don't worry they will understand one day…. I live in hope.

    About zaira waseem,
Are bhai uska personal decision tha aur usko kya freedom of speech nhi hai apni belief ko propagate karne ka? Sach bolna kya agar koi muslims aurat agar islam k khilaf kuch bolti aur likhti to kya aap log support nhi karte? Freedom of speech? To wo time aap log nhi sochte ho ki vast majority of muslims women dont represent this anti islamic views and they are rather hurt. Me muslims community se hu aur masha Allah meri family me aur puri extended family me sab muslim womens are well educated aur me aap ko batao k vast majority of muslim women are very passionate about islam. There is no way to make them leave islam except for forcing them to leave it, believe it.
Sab ko yehi problem hai k zaira na itna bada chittha kyu likha. That was because she wanted to equal the scores i.e she knew that people are making her an example for muslims to become ultra modernist so she wanted to do the vise versa and invite people back to islam to settle the scores what she was forced to do in the past.

    Sidharth0384's pinned question –
Totally agree with you. This govt is trying to transform India into a national security state from a social welfare state.
In fact, national security state is one of the features of a fascist regime.

Yes, Akash, (and also Shakya Mohanty) – I totally agree with your analysis of authoritarianism, dictatorship and fascism.
Very glad this point was brought up. Because, currently, if you talk about the fascist tendencies of the bjp-rss institution, the automatic delegitimising argument is to point to mamata's authoritarian approach in running her party as well as the govt. (moreover, this line of argument in itself is a logical fallacy)

Very good point made by Shakya Mohanty in his pinned question:
Authoritarianism and Fascism are not the same thing.

Sudhir Chaudhury's rubbish allegations that mahua's speech is plagiarism, etc is a typical alt-right strategy in the current political era: If there is no rational basis to counter someone's argument/speech, then caste aspersions of the person's integrity; if you can cast doubts on the person, then automatically his/her arguments will get delegitimized in the eyes of the public.
Fortunately, this didn't fully work this time.

Also, Akash, regarding Mahua Moitra's speech, and the mahua-mamata issue: Mahua delivered the speech in the floor of the parliament as an elected M.P. That itself is a constitutional position. She is there as an elected MP, not just as a member of the TMC party. That position automatically gives her the right to ask questions to the government, or criticise the government, on the floor of the house. Because party system has become such an integral part of democracy, we often ignore the individual constitutional position of MPs.

For those who blame the reservation system for not getting seats or jobs – ask the government to increase seats and increase jobs. The problem is not reservation, the problem is lack of employment generation. It is easy to blame sc, st, obc candidates, colleagues, classmates – they make a tangible target for your anger and frustration. But if you think calmly, the real target of your anger and frustration should be the eco-political power nexus, the administration. But the establishment, the institutions of power, through various agencies, always try to misdirect our frustration towards soft targets like backward castes, minorities, and in case of western countries, coloured races and immigrants.

As soon as you make a public discussion about your personal decision, it is no longer a personal matter – because it has entered the public domain. If you want it to be personal, you have to keep it personal, keep it private.

There is no game plan for the nation. Any and every game plan's final agenda is to win the next election.
This govt has zero interest in administration. Every political party, by definition, aims at getting and retaining power. But once they come to power their duty is to to administer through policies. Every party makes policies which they hope will increase their popularity with the people, and in doing so some work of public welfare gets done. This is the first time in my experience that the party in power has zero interest, zero intention and zero capability to conduct their administrative role. Their entire game plan seems to be to exploit fickleness of public memory by manufacturing some sensational gimmick before every election and use that to divert attention from all administrative and policy issues.

sir , dont you think democracy rights are a big thing , for driving only you need a licence and you will have to prove ..then why for voting ,everyone is having equal rights ….there must be some aptitude test and you should clear that in order to prove that you have some basic knowledge of system and governance so that you can utilize the power of vote effectively !
ek se ek jahil …even the guy is scientist or engineer, that does make him/her educated in subject matter …whoever having knowledge of subject matter should get the chance to vote since its a biggest right in democracy !
aaj halat ye hai ki agar aapke ghar samne gadhha hai …to people cant say whose fault is this ….MP/MLA or corporator..
